Skeptic Stuff
These sites should help you understand how I think.

The Church of Critical Thinking - My new cause. I recommend starting with the FAQ.

The James Randi Educational Foundation - His weekly commentaries are interesting reads.

The Skeptics Dictionary - "A collection of strange beliefs, amusing deceptions, and dangerous delusions" from "abracadabra" to "zombies".

Snopes Urban Legend Reference Pages - A good place to start if you hear or read something that just can't be true. Horse of a Different Color is a good place to start, but be sure to visit the "More information about this page" link.

Logic and Fallacies - The basics of logical reasoning. A great place to learn how to argue a point or analyze someone else's argument.

The Kennedy Assassination - A site "dedicated to debunking the mass of misinformation and disinformation surrounding the murder of JFK." If you've seen Oliver Stone's JFK and believe anything in it other than the fact that JFK was killed in Dallas, you should visit this site.

Science
The true love of any genuine geek.

Science - One of the two most prestigious journals of the scientific world.

Nature - The other one.

Scientific American - Science news aimed at non-scientists. The site seems to be dead at the moment.

New Scientists - Coverage of "breaking news" in science.

How Stuff Works - Information on how just about anything works. Skeptic alert: I'm not sure who writes this stuff, so I wouldn't recommend trusting everything you read on there. Always look for verification!

Science Technologies - The company where I work. Visit our site to see some of our science tutorials.

Philosophy
I think, therefore I am. I think.

The Ethical Philosophy Selector - Find out which philosopher best matches your opinions on ethics.

The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy - An alphabetical resource of the history and terminology of philosophy.

The Political Compass - Discover where you lie on the political spectrum.

Diversions
Random sites that I spend way too much time at.

Ain't It Cool News - Movie and TV news for and by geeks.

Homestar Runner - Some day I will become a Flash expert and produce a site 1/10 as cool as this site. It gets particularly hilarious when Strong Bad answers his email (usually updates on Mondays).

Penny Arcade - A combination online comic/geek news site. Around Christmas 2003, they raised over $100,000 in games and cash for a children's hospital, just to get something good in the news about gamers. Updates monday/wednesday/friday.

PvP - Another online comic. I don't usually find it as funny as Penny Arcade, but it tends to be more understandable by non-geeks. This one shows pretty well why I read the site daily.

The Straight Dope Message Board - They charge for subscriptions now, but it's at least worth seeing if you get hooked during the free 30 days.

Utopia - An extraordinarily simple yet extraordinarily addictive online game.

Other Stuff
Categories? We don't need no stinkin' categories!

Air America Radio - I recommend The O'Franken Factor (weekdays noon-3 eastern).

All Recipes - A great site to check before heading into the kitchen.

Ardalambion - The resource for anyone seeking to learn one of Tolkien's Elvish languages (yes, I fall into that category).

The Gauss Rifle - Have you ever wanted to build your very own rail gun? Here's how!

Task List Programs from AnswersThatWork - A great resource for figuring out why your PC runs so slow.

|_|17|2@-1337 (Ultra-Leet, or Ultra-Elite) Translator - Want to know what some geek is saying to you online? Try this translator!
